tkr 34-58 + 7

I feel that this section of the story really shows a lot of guilt. Hassan really sees that Amir and him are bound because they had both fed from the same breast. Amir wins the kite at the end of the tournament, and Hassan being the best kite runner in town claims the last fallen kite for him. Shortly after, Hassan is approached by Assef and his group of friends. Hassan is raped. Amir even hears this going on. The fear of stepping up and defending Hassan paralyzes Amir. He pretends nothing happens. This shows the more dominance kind of affect that people have over each other. Its depriving them of their pride. Hassan was brought into the worst winter of his life from that point on.

tkr 1-34

This chapter briefly shows the respect for family basically. Amir demonstrates a brotherly relationship with Hassan while he is also aware than Hassan is nothing more than a servant to his family. Hassan never blamed Amir when they each had gotten into trouble for catching the suns reflection into the neighbor's eyes. Baba was quite the role model for Amir. he had tried nearly everything to get his attention. He started demonstrating an interest in soccer.

Chapt 25-end

I thought the ending was nice. When they fly the kites in the park it feels like it's Amir and Hassan. The book was good.

Chapt 23-24

Amir made the right choice by saving sohrab and taking him to live with him in the us.

Chapt 22

I think Amir deserves to feel a little pain after what he had done to Hassan.

Chapt 19-21

Amir is finally realizing all the bad he has done. He is actually trying to make things right.

Chapt 16-18

I think it's messed up that baba didn't tell Amir about his brother.

Chapt 13-15

I feel as if Amir thinks about Hassan throughout everything. Even at his wedding he connected it to Hassan. The wedding scene was cute. It was sad to see baba pass away but atleast his funeral showed he was a good man

Chapt 11-12

I think Amir should have told Sonya about Hassan. Amir and babas relationship is developing well.

Chapt 9-10

I was surprised that Amir set up Hassan. I honestly don't think Hassan deserved it after what he's already been through.

Chapt 8

Amir and Hassan begin to grow further apart. Amir is rude to him.

1-34

It's wierd that everyone has their own servants. Amir has a lot of power over Hassan.

Chapter 25-end TKR

Overall the ending to this book was too perfect for me. They go to a park and Kite run, as if its Hassan and Amir again? And then it ends with for a thousand times over, and to me it was to much like a movie which would never happen, maybe i don't like stories that end like that haha. I enjoyed this book mostly because of the culture, i enjoyed reading about the conflicts of the Taliban, the Russians and the Natives, but i'd rather the author left some interpretation at the end. Scale of 1-10? 7.5 :)

Chapter 23-24

Okay seriously?! Talk about set up Amir gets a scar directly down the middle of his lip, just like a cleft lip! This just seemed to corny to me, and so far everything just seems so put together and laid out for me, i want to interpret things sometime! Sohrab trying to kill himself is something i was confused about. I get that he didnt want to live without his parents, but why did the author include it? I wouldnt have missed anything had he excluded it like the movie!

Chapter 22 TKR

ITS FREAKING ASSEF! Honestly i cant say i'm suprised he joined the Taliban, what is annoying to me is how the author set it up. Its so coincidental how he take Sohrab from the orphanage and how Amir finds him. It all seemed too setup and not really natural. Nevertheless Amir saves Sohrab, obviously with his help because he cant beat anyone up that coward! I wish this was more satisfying than it was though, just seems to setup lol.

Chapter 19-21 TKR

So now Amir is headed to save Hassan's son. Its funny because when i had read earlier chapters i would have thought you were lying about him actually going. But then again he also feels like he has to do this now. He needs to break even from the terrible things he did when he was younger. The scene where they stone the woman in the soccer field is also really brutal. Honestly i was surprised they included  it but i guess it was necessary to really see what was going on in Afghanistan and the magnitude of power the Taliban had.

Chapter 16-18 TKR

Hassan is dead. what in the tarnation is going on! This really gave a look into the cultural side of the book. I knew the Taliban were bad but this shows the hate and crime they have. It sucks to see Amir have to deal with them moving into his old house and taking his best friend. I guess Karma is biting him in the butt! But now he has a way to redeem himself, to save Hassans son. Hopefully he wont wimp out this time, but I can pretty much predict him saving the son. It wouldnt be a happy ending if he didnt.

Chapter 13 - 15 TKR

I find it ironic that Amir and Soraya can't have a baby. It almost seems like one of the punishments for Amir betraying Hassan. There's no way the author didn't intentionally make that happen. I was suprised when Amir agrees to go to Pakistan for Rahim Khan. I realize that he was a mentor for him when he was young but from Amirs past, he is not known to be a risk taker or to be proud of standing up for something. Maybe he's finally growing up and wants to find redemption for what he did to Hassan?

Chapter 11 and 12 TKR

These two chapters bring a new time period into play, and show when Amir and Baba move to America. Their relationship definitely seems to be a lot stronger, which is not what i predicted. I had thought they would always stay the same, if not worse. Amir and Baba almost seem like close friends, with a mutual respect for eachother. Chapter 12 also shows Amir speaking to Soraya which shows how much of a coward he is for waiting so long. oh yeah and Baba is dying to cancer, which is going to leave Amir with noone to have for guidance. YAY :\

Chapter 9 and 10 TKR

YOURE JOSHING ME RIGHT NOW, when i read this part i was freaking out. Not only does Amir blackmail Hassan and say that he stole his money he lets them leave! It frustrates me that Amir is doing this to himself. I want to believe he has a good heart and can own up for himself but its harder and harder to see the good in Amir. Hassan and Ali don't deserve this and this will probably affect Amir and Babas relationship down the line!

Chapter 8 TKR

I think its pretty bogus what Amir does to Hassan after the rape. I think his worst move was treating it like nothing happens and he decides that to ignore everything. He could have owned up to it and missed alot of hassle. Also in this chapter Amir throws pomegranates at Hassan to test his loyalty, and i think this says alot about who Hassan is, and how loyal he is. It also says alot about Hazaras and the servant-master relationships in this culture.

TKR Chap 25-End

I liked how this book ended. I thought the author picked a good way to end but I wish we can figure out what happens with Sohrab.

TKR Chap 23-24

After reading this I'm wondering if Sohrab is dead? Amir finds I'm in the tub bleeding. I would assume he's dead or atleast dieing.

TKR 22

In thia scene we see the fight between Sohrab and Assef. The ethnic cleansing thing is very obscure and I don't really understand the concept.

TKR Chapter 19-21-

These chapters were pretty brutal and actually hard to read. The stoning was a very surprising and a very dark point for the book.

Kite runner chapter 22

I think it's messed up the way Assef treats Sohrab is really messed up. Somebody should take him down a notch

Kite runner 19-21

I hope they find sohrab because Amir is going to EXTREME lengths just to find him

TKR 11&12

In this chapter we see Amir finnally getting the nerve to speak to Sorroya. But then he learns that she's no longer "pure" by Afghan standards.

TKR Chapter 7

In this chapter it depicts a very brutal scene that I'm sure will have a greater effect on Amir and Hassan in the furture. The rape of Hassan is definately a defining moment in the book.

TKR Chapter 9&10

In these chapters Baba got really lucky. He was nearly killed by a Russian guard. But had his life spared when another guard chose to spare him.

TKR Chapter 8

After Hassan's rape I'm kinda confused on exactly what's going to happen with Amir and Hassan. Is Amir going to confront Hassan or just pretend it didn't happen?

1-34

This book is good. I like it

9-10

I hate how amir is so ungrateful and a lil girl. He should be happy that he gets stuff.

13-15

I think that amir and soraya are a perfect match. There both boring and go perfect together. There the type of couple to last forever

16-18

I think its crazy that amir and hassaan are brothers. Idk how his dad kept that secret from him for all that time. I wouldnt be able to do that if it was my son

19-21

Its sad that when amir goes back to his hometown that he sees everything is destroyed and not what it looked like before. Id be crazy upset if that happened to me.

23-24

feel bad that Hassan feels the way he does, after all he has suffered through. I am glad that Amir is willing to take Sohrab back to America to live with him.

25-end.

I think its great that amo takes back hasaans som and raises his as his own. Hes kind of looking for redemption for what he did to hasaan when he was younger

The Kite Runner End

This book was the best book that we read. I really enjoyed it. I also thought that the ending was perfect.

The Kite Runner 23-24

I feel bad that Hassan feels the way he does, after all he has suffered through. I am glad that Amir is willing to take Sohrab back to America to live with him and Soraya. I am also glad that Soraya is understanding about everything. Since Amir and Soraya struggled to have kids, Sohrab will now be there. I was shocked when reading what Sohrab did to him self in the bathtub.. for me that was probably the most shocking part of the book.

The Kite Runner 22

It's ironic to learn that the official is Assef, and that he so "happened" to have Hassan's son. I think its disturbing that he Assef had Sohrab have make up on his face. I wish Amir would fight back, and not just laugh about it. I feel that Assef deserved a beating more than Amir. But I am glad that Sohrab was able to shoot him in the eye.

The Kite Runner 19-21

Its sad to see Amir go back to his home and see everything destroyed. It also sad to read how the orphanage would just give children to the official. Its also sad that there wasn't enough beds or blankets for the children.

The Kite Runner 16-18

When Amir finds out that him and Hassan are brothers and Hassan has died, its a change for Amir and knows he needs to make things right, to save his nephew, Hassan's son. I think its the right thing to do of Amir. I agree that Amir should be upset that Baba has lied to him all these years.

The Kite Runner 13-15

I think Soraya and  Amir are good together, even though they didn't really know each other during their engagement. I think Amir's relationship with Soraya shows that Amir isn't a bad guy, and he does have some goodness in him. If you were to actually count when Amir "becomes" good, then I would choose the part when Amir goes to see Rahim back in Peshawar. He then finds out the information he would never expect and he realizes he must make things right again.

Kite runner 25

This ending was heart touching i truly loved it

Kite runner 23-24

Amir made the right choice taking sohrab to america with him

Kite runner 19-21

Amir is finally starting his journey to goodness

25 Kite Runner

I love to see Soraya and Amir stick up for Sohrab as if he was there son. Amir really cares about sohrblab since he found out hassan was his brother. Amir has definetly redeemed himself for whay he did.

Kite runner 16-18

Poor ali, killed by a land mine thats just poor luck

23-24 Kite Runner

I cant believe that it would be this hard for Amor to just get the kid out of the country and into the Usa to get custody. The worst thing is telling Sohrab that he might have to go back despite telling him he would never return to the orphanage.

22 Kite Runner

I just cant believe that Sohrab takes out Assefs eye after being called one eyed assef when he was a kid. Also it is good to see Amir go through the physical pain he thought he deserved for letting Hassan get raped.

19-21 Kite Runner

It must have been a real wake up call for Amir to be told that the Kabul he remebered was never that great, and that he was lucky to have such a great life. He always seemes to think he is entitled to anything he wants.

16-18 kite runner

I cant believe Hassan is dead. The Taliban killed him as though he was nobody just because he was a hazara. Its Amirs time to redeem himself by finding his son.

13-15 Kite Runner

I think its stupid that the General doesnt work because he thinks hes to good to. Also hearing from Rahim Khan after all that time. Its time for Amir to redeem himself.

kite runner 13&15

general tahari thinks work is beneath him?? really get a life man

kite runner 11&12

baba got really mad! all he did was ask for ID

kite runner 9&10

these chapters wowed me, amir is so ungrateful of his gifts and how fortunate he is

Kite runner 25 to end

I was glad that sohrab was still alive. I don't blame him for staying mute for a whole year. He felt life had lost its meaning and I was surprised he didn't attempt to take his life again. I was glad when Amir stood up to the general about sohrab. I felt that the last scene in the book foreshadowed good things to come. Amir can be good again.

Kite runner chapter 7

I can't believe Amir didn't help hassan. After all Hassan did for him he basically gave him up for a kite. He could of talked to Hassan about it but he totally ignored it which only made it worse. Hassan and Amir's friendship will never be the same after this.

Kite runner 9-10

Chapter 9 made me really hate Amir. Hassan showed him nothing but love and he betrays him by setting him up. I was surprised when baba forgave Hassan because the only theme is theft. Chapter 10 showed that Amir hadn't changed and still wouldn't stand up for anything. I found the end of chapter 10 shocking.

Kite runner 16-18

Rahim khans story was quite shocking. I can't believe Hassan and his wife were murdered out in the streets. It shows how brutal Afghanistan has become. I was mad when Amir walked out on rahim Khan but I was glad he went back. This is his chance to redeem himself.

Kite runner 25 to end

I enjoyed the ending of the  book. I felt it was the first step to a better relationship between sohrab and amir. There was some closure when they flew the kite at the end because Hassan and Amir used to do it together. I overall enjoyed the book but all the connections between the past and present were a little much.

The Kite Runner Chapters 25-end

I feel bad for Sohrab and all that he had to go through. I enjoyed the ending especially the kite running part in America. Sohrab is doing what his father loved to do. I enjoyed this book, I thought it was very interesting at some parts and it made me want to keep reading to figure out what happens. I liked how it was one big loop and everything at the end pretty much tied into everything that happened in the beginning.

Kite Runner chapters 23-24

I really thought things were getting better in the last couple chapters. I really hope that Amir is able to adopt Sohrab but I don't think Amir should be promising him anything if he is not sure he can keep them. Did Sohrab really try to commit suicide in the bathroom? What is going through his head? I wonder what is going to happen in the last chapter with everything that is going on.

Kite runner chapter 22

I hated this chapter I thought it was very disturbing. Amir got what he wanted, which was physical punishment to feel the redemption. I knew Assef was going to come back sooner or later, and I'm not that surprised that he is part of the Taliban. Sohrab really shows how much he resembles Hassan and sticks up for Amir.

The kite runner chapters 19-21

I felt that Amir's character was really changing in these chapters. It is nice of Farhid to take Amir to get Sohrab. I wonder if Amir is going to be able to take Sohrab. Is something bad going to happen to Fahrid for bringing Amir there?

Kite Runner 25-end

The way Sohrab treats Amir while he is in the hospital is kind of like how Amir had treated Hassan all the time. Amir didn't care about Hassan. Amir cares about Sohrab and Sohrab doesn't care about Amir. Amir finally gets Sohrab to enjoy America by kite running like how his father did. I liked the kite runner, it was a good book.

Kite Runner Chapter 7

Amir turns out to be a real coward in this chapter. He was selfish and didn't help Hassan. He was more worried about himself getting hurt. Hassan would do anything to protect Amir and Amir wouldn't do the same.

Thursday, January 16, 2014

kiterunner 25-end

Throughout thia chapter I felt bad for Soraya because she's always wanted a child and even though Sohrab wwasn't genetically hers she still wanted to act as a moth figure but Sohrab ddidn't want anything from anybody. But towards the end it was nice to see Amir reminiscing on the fun times kite flying that him and Hassan had and trying to involve Sohrab on something his father enjoyed alot.

Chapters 15-19

In these chapters I was really interested in the story that Rahiem was telling Amir about Hassan and his new life. I was happy to hear that Hassan is married and has a son. Then I was very upset when I found out in chapter 17 that Hassan and his wife were shot by the Taliban. I believe that Amir should go get his nephew because of what Hassan has done for him in the past and not let him sit in an orphanage. This will show redemption from the rape and all that Amir has done to betray Hassan. I can't wait to see what happens when Farid takes Amir to Kabul. When Amir said "I feel like a tourist in my own country." You can tell by Amir saying this that everything has changed and he doesn't feel welcome or know what's going on in his own country. Irony appears in chapter 19 because Amir realized how is exactly like baba, and after all this time he thought they were different.

Tuesday, January 14, 2014

the kite runner 7,8,9 and 10

In theses 4 chapters show how Amir's life begins to change that is forcing him to change or he will lose everything he loved and he is later in the chapters forced to flee Kabul and begin his journey to a new life

kiterunner 23-24

I keep wondering why Sohrab is so quiet all the time untill he broke down itno tears about how he felt dirty and bad that he hurt assef. I liked that the fact that they both bad something in common brought them together. When I was reading the part where sohrab was crying and talking and amir was acting like a consoling father figure I welled up inside.

Kite runner 22

Amir goes for hassans son runs into assef and get beat up hassans son shoots him with slingshot and its just like Hassan did for him so it brings back the past

Kite runner day 11

I was glad to  see Amir and sohrab getting along. I feel that Amir is trying to make up for his treatment of Hassan by being a father to sohrab. Just when things started going well, sohrab is rushed to the hospital. Things just keep going wrong.

Monday, January 13, 2014

Kite Runner 24-25

I did not think Sohrab would hurt himself like that. It was unexpected. I think Sohrab reminds Amir of Hassan especially when they are kite running. The book was good, I enjoyed it.

Kite Runner 22 & 23

I knew Amir was going to encounter Assef again. It makes sense to have him be part of the Taliban. Assef still has power of Amir. Sohrab saved the both of them from him. Sohrab is much like Hassan.

Kite Runner 19,20,21

Amir going to find Sohrab is kind of like redeeming himself and getting rid of the guilt he feels. By saving part of Hassan, he will be able to get rid of the guilt.

Chapters 16-18

It surprised me to find out that Hassan had died. I was sure he was going to be alive and him and Amir would settle everything that had happened between them.

Kite Runner Chapter 13-15

I didn't expect Amir to return to Pakistan at all throughout the book. It brings back a lot from his past. You find out about Hassan in these chapters, I was wondering about what had happened to him after he left Amir and Baba.

the kite runner chapter's 21 22 and 23

though out theses three chapters Amir deals with a large amount of problems from his past he gains Redemption for his past with Hassan and he finally deals with Assef and has gained respect from Rahem Kean for what he did back when he was a kid in Afghanistan

Friday, January 10, 2014

Kite runner day 10

This chapter was very exciting. I had a feeling assef was going to be the Taliban official even before it was blurted out in class. I was glad that Amir finally stood up for something instead of just running away.  When sohrab saved Amir's life, it showed thst sohrab has hassaans courage and also has more courage than Amir.

Wednesday, January 8, 2014

I think its nits that rahim is still alive and calls amir to come back. The news he lets him know about it crazy and i cant believe hasaan has a kid. This is like a huge break in the story

Tuesday, January 7, 2014

TKR 16,17,18

These chapters were really interesting. We learned more about Hassan and how he had a son that he named after a character out of one of him and Amir's favorite story. We also learn that we was murdered.

TKR 13,14,15

Throughout these chapters I'm sensing something big is going happen between Hassan Rahim and Amir. These upcoming chapters should be very dramatic.

Monday, January 6, 2014

kite runner

omg hassan is babas son!!! #plottwist ali is sterile, poor guy

Kite runner day 9

At this point the book is much better than the beginnings. I'm surprised that Amir took on the challenge of finding hassaans son and I don't think he will be able to complete the task. The fact that he has to get the child from a Taliban official makes it seem like an impossible task.

Thursday, January 2, 2014

TKR 12

It's amazing how Sohrab has already changed Soraya and Amir, Amir has found his religion once again and Soraya is back to the happy woman she was when they first married. Until they get home of course, it's terrible that Sohrab is having so much trouble coming back to himself. He wont give life a second chance. But at the end with the kites, it's like a rebirth for everyone. Amir gets a new change through Sohrab, and Sohrab is hinting at starting to enjoy life once more.

TKR 11

Again with the parallels, now Amir will have Hassan's scar too. It's terrible that Sohrab had to go through so much.. All of his hurt is out there to see. The irony here is terrible. I hope Sohrab didn't kill himself.

TKR 10

Can't believe it's Assef... well I can, but still. And of course Amir can't protect himself, the parallels are obvious here. Assef was always crazy. Of course hes a leader among the Taliban. poor Sohrab.

TKR 9

I think whats interesting in these chapters is how Afghanistan is the same yet different. All of the memories Amir had are still ingrained in the soil, history is like blood to Afghans they're proud of their lineage but also of their country. but in the next chapters Kabul as Amir knew it is gone. Utterly destroyed by the Taliban. Buildings are in ruins and trees are all gone, even Baba's home was infiltrated

TKR 8

Its amazing how happy Hassan was. He was able to turn around what happened to him and have love and a family. He has much more character than Amir ever gained as an adult. He even found the strength to welcome his mother into his life once again.
