Lord of the Flies Chapter 1

This chapter was interesting. I noticed that the word "scar" was used tremendously throughout this chapter and  I wasn't sure what the word was referring to. I can already infer that Jack and Ralph will be competitive because they both a conceded and the leaders of the pack of children. I felt really bad for Piggy when Ralph used his authority to embarrass him. I also noticed that Piggy misses his aunt even though he has only been on the island for a little while. Also Piggy may feel this way because there are no adults and because of his parents dying. The beginning of the novel was a little slow and I didn't like how it was written.
